Seven ASU Water Polo Players Garner MPSF All-Academic Honors

June 1, 2007

TEMPE, Ariz. - Seven members of the Arizona State University water polo team have earned placement on the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic team, the league announced recently. Each of the Sun Devil women honored have continued to maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average throughout their careers in Tempe and were eligible if they were sophomores or higher academically.

The honorees included three-time recipients Ashley Bower and Katie Hedley, two-time honorees Kim Buck, Katy Lawlor and Caylinn Wallace while Addison Doud and Lindsay Williams each earned the first academic award of their careers. The honors for Bower and Hedley marked the fourth and fifth times, respectively, that a Sun Devil has earned the academic award three times in a career.

The seven honors attained by the Sun Devils is the second-most in a single season since joining the MPSF in 2004. The most achieved came last year with ASU earning nine total accolades.
