Water Polo's Clapper Selected for US Women's Junior Team Staff

TEMPE, Ariz. - Todd Clapper, the assistant coach of the Arizona State University water polo team, has been selected to join the coaching staff of the United States Women's Junior Team, United States Water Polo announced Friday. Clapper recently completed his first season with the Sun Devil program as he worked with several talented goalies, including All-MPSF Freshman Team goalie Caylinn Wallace of ASU. Clapper joins Kim Everist, a volunteer coach at California, and Alan Cima, a co-head coach at UC Santa Cruz, as assistants on Kyle Utsumi's staff. The quartet will conduct the National Tryout for the women's junior team over Memorial Day weekend while also centralizing team training over the next two months. They also will have a hand in the annual Top 40 Festival which will be held in November. The WJNT won the Junior World Championships in January 2005 and will utilize the upcoming events to prepare for international events, such as the Junior Pan American Games and the Junior World Championships.
