No. 6 Water Polo Earns Big Win Over Pomona-Pitzer

POMONA, Calif. - Eight different players scored goals as the No. 6 Arizona State University water polo team ended its four-game losing streak with a 15-3 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Friday in Pomona, Calif. The Sun Devils improve to 10-8 on the season with the win over the Sagehens, the top-ranked team in Division III. Senior Addison McGrath led the offense with three goals, the ninth time this year she has scored three or more goals in a game. Junior Kelly Phelps, sophomores Lynlee Smith and Nikki Unbehaun and freshmen Bella Morrison and Mariam Salloum all had two goals each, while sophomores Sam Schubert and Christy Stibbe added a goal apiece. Junior goalie Taylor Greenberg got her first career start in the cage, and she collected six saves with two steals while allowing just three goals. The Sun Devils finish their three-game road swing for the week on Saturday, when they travel to No. 2 USC for an MPSF conference match-up at 11:30 a.m. PT.
