Recapping Last Weekend:
Against UCLA: A State came out solid in the first set against the ninth-ranked
Bruins swinging a .268 clip for 13 kills while forcing four tie scores and two
lead changes through the set, but in the end UCLA’s 20 kills for a .311 attack
percentage edged the Sun Devils as they fell 25-20. The Sun Devils couldn’t
seem to regroup from the loss as they came out in the second set to stumble to
a 25-12 loss going into the break. They couldn’t seem to shake off the trouble
in the third as UCLA took it to ASU with a .400 attack percentage to put away
ASU in three with a 25-11 win.

Against USC: ASU came out flat in against the Women of Troy letting errors
get the best of them in the match, hitting .148 as a team. USC’s .303 team
attack percentage with Jessica Gysin and Kimmee Roleder both claiming 14
kills spelled doom for the Sun Devils as USC took the straight sweep 25-17,
25-18 and 25-21.

Scouting This Weekend’s Competition/Series History:
Oregon State Beavers: The Beavers entered the 2008 season after a tough 2007
season which saw them go 10-20 overall, but like their Eugene counterparts they
have returned fi ve starters and a libero and have battled their way all the way into
the rankings as they currently hold a 14-13 record overall and a 3-11 record in the
powerful Pac-10.
All time against the Beavers is one that ASU holds the reigns on with a 31-14
record against OSU with a 16-6 record against them on ASU’s own home floor.

Oregon Ducks:The Oregon Ducks rolled into the 2008 season after a
memorable 2007 which saw them advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 for
the first time in program history. In the season they went 22-11 overall
and 9-9 in conference play. The best part for the Ducks was returning
nearly their entire team and entire starting line-up, giving them strength
and experience this year.
ASU’s all-time history against Oregon is a bit in the favor of ASU, who lead the series 35-10, they lead the series in Tempe at Wells Fargo Arena 13-3.
