With two years of eligibility remaining in her ASU career, Kaitlin Cochran has little left to prove after her offensive assault on teams over the last two seasons. While her freshman season alone at ASU was enough to merit First-Team All-American accolades, it can barely be compared to her accomplishments at the plate in her sophomore season. In 2007, Kaitlin hit .492 on the season, which helped her claim the 2007 NCAA National Batting Title as well as her second Pac-10 batting title in as many years. Her .492 average places her seventh all-time in Pac-10 history and her career average of .464 places her fourth all-time in Pac-10 career history as well. Along with her Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year award for her freshman campaign in 2006, Cochran was also honored again in 2007 by the Pac-10, this time with the Player of the Year award. Her talents at the plate were well known and feared by opponents as she was walked 59 times on the season good for 10th in Pac-10 history, and 15 times intentionally, which is seventh all-time in NCAA history.

While Kaitlin has already climbed into Pac-10 and NCAA record books in only two years, there are records that she already owns after her sophomore campaign. In ASU records, Kaitlin sits atop the single-season records of batting average (.492), home runs (18), RBI (61), and hits (92). In career ASU records, Kaitlin is first in batting average (.464), second in home runs (35), fifth in RBI (120), 13th in hits (175), 10th in doubles (24) and fifth in stolen bases (39).

The two-time First-Team All-American is also a success off the field as much as she is off of it. A math major with a phenomenal GPA, Kaitlin was named to both the Pac-10 All-Academic as well as the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District VIII First-Teams.

Her awards don't stop there however, her overall award resume for the 2007 season reads: - First-Team Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American - First-Team All-Pac-10 - Pac-10 Player of the Year - First-Team Pac-10 All-Academic - First-Team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VIII - Honda Broderick Award Finalists - USA Softball Player of the Year Award Finalist (Final Three) - Pac-10 Player of the Week (Feb. 13 & Mar. 27)

Cochran also had a stellar high school career at Rosary High School. Katie was a four-time All-Sierra League First Team member, as well as a three-time member of the First Team All-County squad. During her senior season, she was named the Sierra League MVP, and earned First Team All-State, First Team All-Region and All-American honors. She chose ASU because of the Sun Devils reputation of being one of the top softball programs in the nation and also for a chance to compete in the Pac-10.

Kaitlin Elizabeth Cochran was born to Patrick (Operations Manager) and Donna (Administrator) on February 29, 1987 in Riverside, California. She also has two older sisters, Lauren (24) and Sheena (22) and is majoring in math with the hopes of one day becoming a math professor and a college softball coach.
