Arizona State Athletics to Host Food and Toy Drives

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University Athletics has teamed up with St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance to help eliminate hunger this holiday season. During the months of November and December, the Sun Devils will be hosting food drives at two women's basketball games, a men's basketball game and a wrestling match. As a thank you to Sun Devil supporters, fans who drop off a non-perishable food item at one of the participating athletic contests will receive discounted admission to that event. In addition to the food drives, both men's and women's basketball will be hosting a toy drive at a December game that will benefit the Food Bank and children living in Arizona. Fans who bring a toy valued at $5 or more will receive discounted admission to the game. Food and toy donations will be accepted at the east and west entrances of Wells Fargo Arena during designated events. St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance, the world's first food bank, is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization that alleviates hunger by efficiently gathering and distributing food to 675 sites that serve the hungry. Serving 13 of Arizona's 15 counties, the organization is committed to volunteerism, building community relationships and improving the quality of life for Arizonans in need.
