ASU Women's Basketball Reaching Out to Kids in the Community
Sept. 16, 2008 Character Code Assembly Schedule
ASU women's basketball is reaching out to kids in the community through the Character Code Program. The Character Code Program is a grass roots effort to create awareness of ASU Women's Basketball through character education. Our women's basketball student-athletes visit local elementary schools (grades 3-6) where they talk to them and demonstrate good character through the Character Code Game. The students and teachers get involved and play the game each week and win prizes such as tickets to women's basketball games, posters, trading cards, and t-shirts. Last year they visited 50 classrooms and reached 1,500 kids. This year with the help of the NCAA grant the goal is 200 classrooms! If you'd like us to invite your child's school to participate in the Character Code Program, please click here or email Christina Wombacher with the ASU women's basketball program. |
