ASU ranked ninth in Golfweek Preseason Poll (September, 2008)

The Arizona State men's golf team is ranked ninth by Golfweek in its preseason poll, announced by the magazine this week. ASU sophomore Jesper Kennegard is a third-team preseason All-American.

Golf World puts the Sun Devils at 12th in its preseason rankings. ASU returns five of its six players from its Pac-10 championship squad from last year, including European Amateur champion Stephan Gross and 2009 honorable mention All-American Jesper Kennegard.

ASU was scheduled to play in the Rees Jones Intercollegiate this week but it has been cancelled due to the weather conditions in South Carolina. A make-up date is trying to be worked out.
