TEMPE, Ariz. - Vice President for University Athletics Lisa Love and Head Football Coach Dirk Koetter have accepted an invitation for Arizona State University to play in the Insight Bowl on December 27th at Chase Field in Phoenix.

The Sun Devils qualified for their third bowl bid in the last five years by beating Arizona 23-20 on Friday afternoon. It was ASU's fifth win over the Wildcats in the last seven years. With the Territorial Cup victory, Coach Koetter becomes the first Sun Devil coach to win three of his first five match-ups with U of A. Arizona State won three of their final four games to earn a postseason bid, their second consecutive. Last season, the Sun Devils defeated Purdue in the Vitalis Sun Bowl.

This will be the 22nd postseason appearance for Arizona State, and the third under Dirk Koetter. The Insight Bowl will be shown to a national television audience on ESPN, with kickoff slated for 6:30 pm. The Sun Devils opponent in the game is to be determined.

Sun Devil football season ticket holders will be mailed a bowl ticket application during the coming week. Additional ticket information, including student tickets, will be released next week.
