Arizona State is well represented in the National Football League as the 2008 season begins. There are 25 former Sun Devils on 2008 opening day rosters, with 21 of the 32 NFL teams having at least one player from ASU. Of the 25 players, 19 begin the season on a team's active roster, four are on practice squads and two are on injured reserve. The group includes seven rookies (Josh Barrett, Michael Marquardt, Robert James, Mike Pollak, Brandon Rodd, Ryan Torain, Justin Tryon) that helped ASU share the Pac-10 title in 2007, and it spans all the way to Carolina Panthers long snapper Jason Kyle, who played at ASU from 1993-1994 and is entering his 14th season in the NFL.
