Thanks For Patience As Indoor Facility Is Completed!
Aug. 6, 2008
Arizona State University and the athletic department appreciates the interest and enthusiasm for its upcoming football season. Coach Erickson and the team enjoys fans attending the practices and those held at the Kajikawa Practice Fields continue to be open to the public. However, as the new indoor facility continues to proceed through the final logistical stages, it will be closed to the general public. Space limitations within the indoor facility requires some adjustments with practice policies, as the safety of athletes and fans is of the utmost importance. Anyone not directly affiliated with the team will have to be escorted by an athletic department staff member to gain entrance. "The process is new to everyone, including every small detail, and we want
to be make sure our training, sports performance and equipment staff become
familiar and acclimated with the building and that we are compliant with all
building codes and policies," says Mike Chismar, Senior Associate Athletic
Director. "Once the building is fully ready to handle the day-to-day
operations on a consistent basis and all policies and procedures have been
completed, ASU athletic administration will discuss the next step in
accommodating Sun Devils fans who want to see the the new facility. We thank
everyone for their patience and understanding as we begin a new phase of Sun
Devil athletics."
