PURDUE UNIVERSITY: Originally signed with Purdue after his high school career in Gales Ferry, Conn., and redshirted for the Boilermakers in 2004, the same season in which ASU defeated Purdue on the Vitalis Sun Bowl.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Ledyard (Conn.) High School...considered the top high school defensive player in the state as a senior...at Ledyard, he was the Eastern Connecticut Conference Most Valuable Player in 2003 and 2002, earned All-State honors in 2003 and 2002 and was a three-time All-Conference honoree (2001-03)...recorded 136 total tackles with four interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as a senior...coached by Bill Mignault at Ledyard.
PERSONAL: Majorning in business management with a minor in communication at ASU...parents are Luis Vasquez, Sr. (computer engineer) and Dorrie Vasquez (nurse's aide) of Gales Ferry, Conn....has two sisters, Toni (19) and Ashlie (16)...enjoys cooking...born April 23, 1986 in San Diego, Calif....full name is Luis G.
