ASU: Persistent, smart player who has improved significantly since arriving at ASU...exited spring practice as the projected starting quarterback after serving as the No. 2 quarterback each of the last three seasons...has played in 25 games in three seasons, completing 40-of-87 passes (45.9 pct.) for 409 yards and three touchdowns...saw action as a true freshman in 2006, making him only the second true freshman quarterback to see action for the Sun Devils since Sun Devil legend Jake Plummer began his career in 1993...also served as the holder on field goals and extra points during the 2008 season. 2008: Played in all 12 games, serving as the holder on field goals and extra points...saw action at quarterback in four games...completed 15-of-43 passes for 151 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions on the season...did not take a sack...was 1-of-8 in the team's season-opening win over Northern Arizona on Aug. 30...saw his most extensive action of the year at No. 8 USC on Oct. 11, going 4-for-17 for 28 yards while playing most of the second half...completed 7-of-12 passes for 80 yards, including a four-yard touchdown pass to T.J.
