First a "thank you" to the Tillman family for the gifts their young men have provided to all of us. My prayer is that they take great comfort knowing that God gave us Pat Tillman as an example of how this life is meant to be lived. He will have a lasting and profound impact on many Americans, not just those of us who are proud Sun Devils. May God bless Pat's family and the families' of all our service men and women throughout the world.
Frank Slate, Chandler, AZ
My family and I send our Thoughts and Prayers to the entire Tillman family.

Pat truly stood for what our great nation is all about. September 11, 2001 made such a personal impact on Pat. He made the ultimate sacrifice for all Americans. May God have mercy on his soul and comfort his wife and family.
Graham and Amanda Lace
Pat Tillman was the best that we had to offer and made us proud to be both Sun Devils and Americans.
We will never forget Pat and the lessons he taught all of us about how to live life to the fullest.
God Bless Pat and Godspeed to Kevin. May he see his way through this fight and return home safely.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Pat's family and friends during this extremely difficult time.

I don't have a son but I can only hope my 10 year old daughter grows to become the quality person Pat Tillman personified. His attitude toward academics, sports, and particularly life will serve as a role model for the way I raise my child forever. Thanks for the memories!

I am an Air Force veteran from the Vietnam era. I traveled the globe witnessing first hand oppression and poverty. I currently work for the Probation Department here in Maricopa Co. I now supervise and witness young kids, addicted to drugs and alcohol, who take their lives and freedom for granted. It saddens me for the loss of Pat and all of our brave soldiers. I wonder if our younger generations really know what Pat and others have given up so they can sleep in peace at night?
Juanita from Scottsdale, AZ
Our thoughts and prayers to the Tillman family for their loss. Pat Tillman is a role model to all of us, for the sacrifice he made for our freedom. He won't be forgotten at any Sun Devil sports event when I hear the nation anthem!
Joseph Urtuzuastegui, Queen Creek, Az.
Words cannot describe a person like Pat Tillman. I've followed Pat's career since ASU and he always stuck me as a person who didn't care what other people thought about his way of thinking. Well, his way of thinking was a selflessness and honorable way. We need more people like that in this world. He truly was a man of his word. It was God's will that his life on this earth would end the way it did. And maybe it was to send a message to all of us and use Pat's life as an example to how God intends us to live. May God bless you Pat. I'm sure he has already. You will be missed here on earth, but I know God still have a mission for you to accomplish.
Melissa (Chandler, AZ)
I can just picture Pat Tillman now...In heaven, wearing a Sun Devil jersey, intercepting a pass, and scoring a touchdown for God's team. My prayers are with his family and friends. What a sacrifice he and other servicemen and women have made - the ultimate sacrifice.
Kelly, Mesa, Az
You will never be Fogotten!
Thank you.

A true hero that touched the lives of many. To put his country ahead of himself is something not many people can say they did or would do. He is once again a true hero.
Mike Underwood (Phoenix ,Arizona)
For the rest of my life the definition of what a true American hero really is will be when I hear or remember the name "Pat Tillman".
Matthew Van Tienderen, Phoenix, AZ
No words can do Justice. Your Heart for Our Inspiration. Your Life for Our Freedom. A Patriot to teach my children about. An Example to be remembered. We are grateful.

I would like to send my prayers to the Tillman family. Your son was a good man who lived a righteous life and set a great example for the rest of us. He was so unselfish and showed show much virtue in all that he did. He gives a new meaning to the word HERO
Mitchell Orr, Freshman at ASU
I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Pat was wonderful, and every American appreciates what he did for us and his country. He was a true hero. Thank you Pat.
Surprise, Arizona
Pat Tillman exemplified the best of Arizona State University. His goals went beyond wealth, to what was really important to him, the freedom that too many take for granted. His death is a great loss to not only ASU, but to the United States of America that still represents true freedom to chose what you want to do. Pat Tillman chose to protect that right, and gave his life so that we would all have the right to make the same choice, as free American citizens. My sympathy goes out to the Tillman family. No parent should have to deal with the death of their child. God Bless America, and the Tillman's of the world that make it possible.

I think in memory of Pat Tillman, ASU should name the tunnel that the players run out of in Frank Kush Field, "Tillman's Tunnel".
Shannon McGuire, Fairfax Station, VA.
As a student at ASU and an upcoming Cardinals cheerleader, I just wanted to say that you are an amazing person for giving up so much for our country. You strived on the field and in the classroom and you have left a spot in all of our hearts...I wish your family the best and you will never be forgotten. May God be with you...

He has touched us all - I am able to point him out to my son as a true hero -someone to emulate.
Brian Bankey, New York City
As a graduate of ASU in December of 1994, I can not express the pride and admiration I feel for Mr. Pat Tillman.
After he made his decision to fight his own war on terror, I knew then he might end up in harm's way but he was as always on his own mission. As a survivor of September 11, 2001 I can not begin to express the grief I feel in my heart once again knowing that this brilliant young man went and did something about it while letting millions of dollars go by in the NFL to defend his country. ASU, despite it huge enrollment, is truly a small town place to go to school. May God bless you and your family for the sacrifices you made. I'll never forget your long out of control golden locks coming out of your Sun Devil helmet scrambling and hitting everything that moved. The Nebraska shutout will always stay in my heart as will the way you conducted yourself after losing to Ohio State. I know your story only through the papers but I can feel your presence always on Palm Walk or near the Rec Center. You will always live on in all Sun Devil and American hearts. Thank God people l!
ike you come into this world to give hope and dreams to others. You did it your way and you did it magnificently. You have humbled a nation in a time when it truly needs it. Thanks for being Pat Tillman and deciding to go to ASU for the years you did. Even though we never met, not a day will ever go by where I don't pause and think of your sacrifice. I always knew you could do more push-ups than Sparky! With a heavy heart I say rest in peace always. I look forward to shaking your hand one day in heaven.
Tempe, AZ
I only know of Pat Tillman because of football, but I am awed by him because of his work ethic and his success away from the football field. He died defending each one of us and I applaud his efforts in the War on Terrorism.
STEPHAN GUSS, PHX, AZ.
May God Bless Pat Tillman and his family. Im saddend by whats happened. I was inspired by what Pat did in his life and how he gave a great effort in what he achieved. I was mainly a fan and admired his play on the field. I wish he could have gotten through the war and and to continue on whatever he wanted to do. My prayers go out to you Pat and family.
Sandy Feight (Phoenix, Arizona)
Even though I never met him, when I heard what he was giving up to fight for freedom I was in awe. I want to send out my thoughts and prayers to his family, both here and in the military, he was a great man. God bless you all.
Kenny York, Phoenix,Az
Want to send my regards to the entire Tillman Family. Pat was an outstanding individual and his parents should commended for raising a great young man and american.
Best wishes to Kevin as he continues to defend the freedoms that he and Pat signed up to defend.
God Bless all of the Tillman family
Jason (Mesa, AZ)
God bless you Pat.
Bill Rottmund (Kingwood, TX)
I'm an ASU grad who graduated the year Pat was born. I have watched Pat over the years playing for ASU and the Cardinals. He has always been the consumate competitor on the field and has demonstated that he was also the consumate patriot.
God's blessings on Pat and his family.
Mesa, Arizona
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones. Pat was a true hero and he will always me remebered.

I had just begun my job in the ASU History Department as Admin. Assistant for the Graduate Program when I first met Pat Tillman. Even though he was an NFL player for the Cardinals, he still wanted to further his education. On October 3, 2001 his was admitted into the MA program in History. I was very impressed by this nice young man who, even though he was a star athlete for the NFL, and even though I didn't know him for long, you could tell he was a man of honor and his parents did a good job of raising him to be the man that he was. As I retire his file from our program with sadness, my heart goes out his family. Pat may be gone, but never forgotten.
