Pat Tillman, you have really touched my heart after all the background stories I have read and heard on the news. Your humbleness and eagerness to be overseas to defend your country and to fight for our freedom has gained all my respect and love for you. You were a bright talented young man who could have done anything you wanted and chose to put your life in danger for us. Pat, you are my hero and i will forever pray for you and your family and someday I will see you up in heaven.

My heart and prayers go out to the Tillman family. You should be proud to have a son who is as compationate and caring as Pat. I am a huge fan being that I am an Arizona native and am true to my local sports. I grew up around Pat and his friends on the team. His ability to light up a room is phenominal. He was a man who stood for excellence and was willing to extend his hand to help in any way, shape or form. He will be truly remembered as one of the many Arizona heroes who dedicated their life to help those of others and in doing so gave his life for his country. We all should be proud of him and the many others who gave such a great sacrafice. I am proud to be an American. Thanks Pat.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Tillman family. Our family watched Pat at ASU and with the Cardinals with pride. A lot of people said he would never make it in the pros, but we knew he would. We never had a doubt. He was one of those players that you just embraced. Although Pat would probably be uncomfortable with all of the attention, he was a hero in our eyes. Bless you all.

America lost a great human when we lost Pat Tillman. He was only one of a handful of pro athletes that did not put himself above his country. R.I.P. Pat. You are a hero to all Americans.

My thoughts and prayers are with Pat and his family. His patriotism, class, and unselfish/humble attitude are what I'll remember most - and that's saying a lot, because he was one of the best players ever to wear a Sun Devil uniform.
Pat, the way you lived your life was so impressive and inspiring. Rest in peace, and may God bless you always.

To say Pat Tillman "gave his all" in the classroom, on the football field and for his country, is the biggest understatement of all-time.
There truly is no superlative which would even come close to describing his character.

I GRADUATED IN 1995 FROM SALINAS HIGH SCHOOL. I PLAYED FOOTBALL AND WAS FORTUNATE TO BE A PART OF CCS HISTORY BY WINNING A CCS TITLE MY JUNIOR AND SENIOR YEAR. MY MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT OF PAT IS WHEN HE WAS ON HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS FOCUS. IT WAS A SPECIAL ON PAT TILLMAN I STILL WATCH THE TAPE UNTIL THIS DAY. I CAN'T BELIEVE PAT WAS JUST AN 18 YEAROLD THEN HE WAS STRONG FAST AND INTIMIDATING. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE MET THIS MAN IN PERSON. HE WAS A REAL INSPIRATION EVEN BACK THEN.LELAND WON DIVISION 1 THAT YEAR. AND PAT OF COURSE WAS CCS PLAYER OF THE YEAR. I FEEL LIKE I KNEW HIM EVEN THOUGH WE NEVER MET.

Long before you ever laid down your life for something you believed in, you made an impression on us all with your sportsmanship, individuality, and amazing ethic. Please don't be embarrassed or annoyed by us- we don't mean to pander. Just accept that you were loved for the hope you gave us that one person really can do something extraordinary and have it be for all the right reasons. And because you were loved, we have the right to mourn you as our own- a true Arizona son.

Courage and Bravery are not taught, but instilled in one from an early age, which is an honor to his parents and family, which helped develop Mr. Tillman into the man he is. After reading certain quotes of Mr. Tillman's it gives me more desire to reach beyond the stars and the understanding that making decisions and standing by them are very important in life. Thank you Mr. Tillman along with every soldier fighting for this nation. My thoughts and prayers are with the Tillman Family and all those who have lost loved ones recently.

Pat Tillman made an honorable decision by foregoing a lucrative NFL career in favor of defending our country.
He made the ultimate sacrifice by giving his life in defense of everything we take for granted.
He was a great student, great football player and great soldier, but most of all...a great American.
I did not know Pat, but as an ASU alumnus that cheered him on the field, I feel the loss.
My heart goes out to the Tillman family...
Thank you Pat for your sacrifice. You and the rest of the men and women in the U.S. Military who lost their lives will not be forgotten.

Dear family members and friends of Pat,
I am deeply saddened by the loss of this stellar young man. I was a senior at ASU in 1997 and watched Pat bring enthusiam and excitement to each game that year. Pat's decision to join the armed forces and leave football reminds all of us that you either "get it" or you don't about what is important in life. Pat got it - and emulated it. God bless him and you all during this sad time. I am sure he is smiling on you all with love from above.

Our prayers are with Pat's family. It is hard to loose a loved one and even harder when it was someone like Pat. I followed him through his career and when he made the choice to go into the service and defend ALL OF OUR FREEDOMS and the fallen heros of Sept 11th - I was stunned. For a professional athlete in this era of premadonnas and arogant attitudes to make that choce is unbelievable. Pat did what he wanted to do and defended all of us.
Pat Tillman - YOU WILL BE MISSED

Words cannot express my deepest sympathy for the Tillman family. I had the pleasure of working with both Pat and Kevin in 1997 while I was at ASU. I will always remember Pat walking in the athletic training room with a smile on his face and sincerely asking "how are you doing?". He touched the lives of so many in such a positive way. We should never forget this young man and the other brave men and women of the armed forces who have fought and died all in the name freedom. Thank you and God Bless you Pat. I know even now you are smiling down on us all.

Pat Tillman has been a role model since I first learned of him when he arrived at Arizona State University. I admired his passion, determination, perserverance and work ethic both on the field and in the classroom.
He is exactly the kind of person anyone could model themselves after. For myself, he represents all that is good in humanity. He was and will continue to be a tribute to the best that we as a society can aspire to.
He will be greatly missed but his spirit will live on always.
